I am a Nursing Director in an organization that has recently been acquired by the largest for profit healthcare organization in the country. My goal this year is to embrace the leadership role and learn more about the new organization in which I practice. I will be taking on a broader role as the Director of Patient Experience & Organizational Development. I plan to develop and implement a Nurse Residency program by June 2016.
Long-term national impact Goals
Begin strategizing professional activities that would yield the opportunity to consult or promote my position as a thought leader in the practice of patient experience.
I would like to be making contacts nationally, possibly become a member of the Beryl institute's Body of Knowledge Advisory group. I will submit my organization's best practice implementation for consideration at national patient experience conferences.
Department specific goals
The Patient Experience Department will expand to include staff from the public relations department and the Health Resource nurses. Specific best practices will be implemented organization-wide that our department will oversee. During this year I will strengthen my management skills and impact the professional development of my staff.
Long-term Corporate goals
My goal is to be actively seeking a corporate position that has regional responsibilities. As the Community Cares Champion for the organization, I frequently interact with corporate leaders. In five years, I would like to be in a corporate regional position as a Mentor for other facilities struggling with culture and staff development.
